A basic distinction is made between active coolers, which require electricity (e.g., 12 V or 230 V), and passive coolers, which operate without electricity. For fishing trips in nature – far from power sources – a passive cooler is the better choice: quiet, flexible, and completely independent.
QOOL coolers are among the most powerful passive systems on the market. They utilize advanced vacuum insulation and reusable temperature elements to maintain consistent temperatures for several days.
The QOOL Box M (27 L) is ideal for day trips or light luggage. Those who need more storage space for longer trips or larger catches should opt for the QOOL Box L (43 L).
Depending on the Temperature Elements used, the QOOL Box maintains a constant temperature for several days. With optimal preconditioning, it can even maintain cooling for up to 10 days. Perfect for multi-day trips without disrupting the cold chain.
Make sure the fish is clean and packed as airtight as possible in the box – ideally already gutted. Use the Frozen Temperature Elements (-20°C or 0°C) for optimal preservation. For complete control, we recommend the QOOL Bluetooth Thermometer, which allows you to monitor the temperature at any time – especially important for delicate catches.
The QOOL Box achieves its impressive thermal insulation performance through the use of vacuum insulation panels installed on all sides, in the lid, and in the base of the box. Combined with the QOOL Temperature Elements, the temperature inside can be maintained at a constant level for several days. The box can be opened multiple times without any problems, as long as the lid is closed tightly to prevent air exchange.
Standard Frozen (-20 °C to -10 °C) Please freeze the Temperature Elements in a freezer/chest freezer at a temperature of at least -18 °C for at least 72 hours. Remove the Temperature Elements from the freezer/chest freezer. The inside of the elements should now be solid. The Temperature Elements are immediately ready for use and can be used with the QOOL Box.
Standard Cool (-2 °C to +2 °C) Please freeze the Temperature Elements in a freezer/chest freezer at a temperature of at least -18 °C for at least 12 hours. Remove the Temperature Elements from the freezer/chest freezer. The inside of the elements should now be solid. The Temperature Elements are immediately ready for use and can be used with the QOOL Box.
Controlled Fresh (+2 °C to +8 °C) Please freeze the Temperature Elements in a freezer/chest freezer at a temperature of at least -18 °C for at least 8 hours. Take the Temperature Elements out of the freezer/chest freezer. The inside of the elements should now be solid. The Temperature Elements are immediately ready for use and can be used with the QOOL Box.
