When culinary art meets cooling technology – our QOOL Box in cooperation with Johann Lafer and Ballerina-Küchen

This year's Kitchen Mile in Rödinghausen was a truly special moment for us: the QOOL Box was presented by Ballerina as the centerpiece of the new Lafer kitchen. A project that demonstrates what's possible when technology, design, and culinary arts come together.


The QOOL Box as the heart of the Lafer kitchen

Our QOOL Box plays a central role in this concept.
As part of the "Lafer by Ballerina" collaboration, it was integrated into the kitchen to rethink flexibility, freshness and efficiency.

The box operates entirely without electricity and maintains refrigerator or freezer temperatures for up to ten days. This makes it ideal as additional cooling space – for example, when guests arrive or more storage space is needed.

The QOOL Box originally comes from medical technology – proof that maximum precision and everyday usability can go perfectly together. Thanks to modern vacuum insulation panels and special temperature elements, the temperature remains constant.

Design meets functionality

The Lafer kitchen demonstrates how refrigeration technology and kitchen design can work together. Besides its functionality, the QOOL Box impresses with intelligent details such as automatic carrying handles, recessed grips, and hygienically easy-to-clean surfaces.

It thus fits perfectly into Ballerina's design concept – and into the philosophy of Johann Lafer, who values ​​well-thought-out processes and clear structures.


A glimpse into the kitchen of tomorrow

Our collaboration with Ballerina kitchens and Michelin-starred chef Johann Lafer clearly demonstrated how seamlessly our energy-free cooling technology can be integrated into modern kitchen designs – functionally, aesthetically, and with real added value in everyday life. Together, we want to show what innovation in the kitchen looks like when quality, sustainability, and a passion for cooking come together.
