Extreme Test: How Robust the QOOL Box Really Is

The QOOL Box was developed as a premium cooler that performs even under demanding conditions. But how much can it really withstand? To answer this, we conducted two extreme tests and specifically checked what the materials and construction can achieve in an emergency.

Extreme Test 1: Tow Test Behind a Car

We state that the QOOL Box can withstand a static load of up to 150 kg. To test its structural stability under dynamic load, we towed it behind a moving car. This type of load is significantly more demanding than pure compressive load, because friction, impacts, and changing force directions act on the housing simultaneously.

The QOOL Box housing is made of high-strength plastic, designed for precisely this type of stress. The connections between the lid and the body are constructed to maintain their shape even under uneven force. In the test, the box's structure and seals remained fully intact.

Extreme Test 2: Drop Test from 6 Meters Height

The second test aimed to check the box's shock-absorbing properties. A fall from 6 meters height corresponds to an impact force rarely encountered in real-world outdoor use. We chose it to demonstrate the integrated Shock Absorber Technology under extreme conditions.

The Shock Absorber Technology is integrated into the QOOL Box housing and dampens impact forces before they are transferred to the interior or the vacuum insulation. This is particularly relevant for use in a van or on a boat, where the box might slide or bump against other equipment on bumpy routes.

What Robustness Means for Cooling Performance

An important question in such tests is whether the box's structure remains sealed after a strong load. For the QOOL Box, this is particularly relevant because the vacuum insulation relies on a perfect seal. If this is compromised by deformation or cracks, the box loses its cooling performance. In both tests, the insulation remained intact, and the box maintained its temperature just as reliably afterwards as before.

The QOOL Box cools for up to 10 days without an external power connection. This performance is only useful if the box can also withstand the conditions under which it is actually used. These tests were conducted precisely for this purpose.

Technical Background

The robustness of the QOOL Box is based on three factors: the high-strength plastic housing, the integrated Shock Absorber Technology, and the construction of the connection elements. All parts are manufactured in Germany and undergo quality control according to ISO 14001 standard. Ideal refrigerator without electricity

It's worked perfectly; everything stayed at the desired temperature for over four days. Most importantly, it no longer puts a strain on the car battery. Once, after a long trip on a Baltic Sea ferry, our previous combustion engine car wouldn't start because of the compressor refrigerator, and we needed a jump start. The Qool is truly ideal for an electric car. I highly recommend purchasing the Ruuvi temperature gauge as well. A tremendous development both in terms of energy and ecology. Not cheap, but worth every cent.

Last week, at temperatures over 38 degrees Celsius, the box kept its contents cool for seven days. It's also worth mentioning that the box was in our motorhome, which, in the heat, had an internal temperature of over 42 degrees Celsius at times. Great product.
