A Norwegian adventure with a happy ending

Anyone who goes fishing in Norway knows: A perfect catch is just the beginning. The challenge is bringing it home safely, thousands of kilometers away. Roland Brossel, chairman of the Norway Fishing Special Group with over 34,000 members, knows this challenge all too well – and tells us about an adventure that almost ended badly.

The perfect catch – safely chilled

Roland's most recent trip took him back to the Norwegian coast. Conditions were ideal: calm waters, strong catches, and impressive scenery. For the trip home, he set his QOOL box to -12 degrees Celsius to ensure his catch was safely transported frozen.

After several successful days of fishing, the box was full of frozen fish – carefully packed for the return flight to Germany.

“It was clear to me: With the QOOL Box, my catch is safe – no matter what happens along the way.”

The moment of horror

But upon arrival in Germany, the shock came: Roland's luggage, including his suitcase and valuable fishing equipment, had disappeared – and with it the QOOL box and the catch.

Despite the uncertainty, Roland remained calm and trusted in the quality of the QOOL Box while he contacted the airline to discuss the whereabouts of his luggage.

Nine days full of uncertainty

Nine days passed, during which Roland didn't know whether his catch was still in good condition. Finally, he received the long-awaited news: his luggage had been found.

The unexpected result

The exterior of the case was heavily damaged, with the signs of transport clearly visible. But more importantly, the QOOL box inside was intact—and the fish inside was still frozen.

When opened, the temperature display showed -2 degrees Celsius – after more than a week without power and under changing conditions.

"I was honestly stunned. I wouldn't have believed it possible that the box would still keep the fish frozen after nine days."

Reliability when it matters

For Roland, one thing is clear: the QOOL Box saved his catch and thus brought the adventure to a happy conclusion. This experience is not only a success story, but also proof of the reliability of QOOL technology under real-world conditions.

Many in the Norway Fishing Special Group share his conviction: If you want to transport your catch or high-quality food safely, you can't ignore QOOL.

At the Abenteuer & Allrad Messe 2025

We met Roland again at the Abenteuer & Allrad trade fair 2024 – this time with a camera. In a short video profile, he explains how much he trusts the QOOL Box.

He explains that he fishes in Norway three to four times a year and relies entirely on the box for transporting his frozen fish. He uses the smaller version for air travel. He takes the larger box for car journeys – weight and volume aren't important there.

Roland emphasizes that while the box is not a bargain, the unbeatable performance and the security that his fish will remain safely frozen even after nine days are more than worth the investment.

These personal words show why professionals like Roland rely on quality and reliability.
