Passive coolers have many advantages: they do not require electricity, are lighter and do not need sensitive electronics. However, they often lack cooling time, especially in hot ambient temperatures. But not with the QOOL cooler. Thanks to an ingenious system, it is a reliable travelling companion - even on outdoor adventures lasting several days.
Insulation technology from space travel
From the outside, the QOOL box gives a simple impression, but inside there are fascinating technologies that will inspire you every time you use it. We use vacuum insulation panels on all sides as the basis for outstanding cooling performance. As a vacuum does not transport heat, it exceeds the insulation performance of conventional insulation materials by a factor of 10.
No energy is lost at the lid either. This is ensured by our QOOL Air Seal, which firmly seals the lid and body together. So you don't have to worry about difficult handling: We have provided the corners of the body with handles that allow you to open the lid in no time at all.
After proper pre-cooling of our cooling elements, our cool box maintains a constant temperature for up to 10 days. This means that long trips - even in permanently hot climates - are no longer a challenge. This is another reason why the QOOL Box is the best passive cooler for travellers and adventurers. Efficient cool box without electricity
Passive cool boxes are usually cooled with batteries or ice. But the QOOL Box is anything but ordinary. It uses temperature elements that are filled with what is known as phase change material (PCM).
This liquid stores cold energy over a long period of time and can release it again with virtually no loss. PCM is made up of harmless paraffins and salts. All ingredients are harmless and suitable for use with food. Depending on the recipe, five different temperature ranges can be maintained.
Standard Cool (-2 °C to +2 °C): Whether it's a camping trip or a festival weekend - with Standard Cool you always have fresh meat and fish ready for the barbecue.
Controlled Fresh (+2 °C to +8 °C): Cool drink or food for breakfast? With these temperatures, you don't have to miss out on anything when you're out and about.
Whether it's icy conditions for transporting sensitive food or the perfect temperature for barbecued food and cold drinks - with our wide range of variants, you can stay cool in any situation. And the best thing is that you don't need an additional power supply. The Temperature Elements are also available separately from us. This means you only need one box, which you can easily customise with different cooling elements to suit your requirements.
Cool box for camping - lightweight and robust
The integrated high-performance insulation not only impresses with its excellent thermal insulation, but is also characterised by its low weight. Together with the automatically folding carrying handles, handling is child's play. Despite the lightweight body, the QOOL cooler can be loaded with 70 kg and can withstand loads of up to 150 kg.
As far as robustness is concerned, the cool box without electricity is ahead. After all, we completely dispense with sensitive electronics and instead rely on maintenance-free and durable components. This also applies to the Temperature Elements, as the excellent cooling performance of the PCM is not lost. Our special Shock Absorber Technology provides additional protection. This protects the box and its contents from damage in the event of falls and shocks.
QOOL cool boxes in various sizes
We offer our passive cool boxes in two sizes. The more compact version, the QOOL Box M, has a capacity of 21 litres. It leaves more than enough space for the rest of your equipment when travelling in small vehicles and is ideal for use on the road. With a filling volume of 30 litres, the QOOL Box L has sufficient reserves for cooling food for several people. In both cases, we have already deducted the space required for the Temperature Elements from the capacity.
Our sustainability claim
The body of our cool box is made of expanded polypropylene, which is characterised not only by its low weight and heat-insulating properties, but also by its 100% recyclability . We attach great importance to sustainability, which is why we are particularly proud of our QOOL Box Eco+.
We obtain the necessary material from old plastic. This is shredded in a special recycling process, processed and used to manufacture the body and lid. This enables us to produce high-quality cool boxes while minimising the impact on the environment.
