QOOL - bis zu 7 Tage kühlen ohne Strom?

QOOL - cool for up to 7 days without electricity?

We seem to be in the middle of testing fever, and that's a good thing! Because only through extensive testing can we give you the results, inform you about what works, how it works and where there may be weak points.

A few days ago, the delivery lady dropped off another bulky box on our doorstep. Inside was the Qool-Box M together with four red ice packs called "Standard Cool". The M-Box has a capacity of 27 liters without ice packs, while with the packs it has five liters less. The dimensions are around 52 centimeters long, a good 37 centimeters wide and 41 centimeters high. This is roughly the size of a compressor cooler with a capacity of almost 40 liters, but without the need for electricity.

The red ice packs are designed to keep the contents of the box at temperatures between minus and plus two degrees Celsius, provided they have been previously frozen to at least minus 18 degrees Celsius. With the four red packs, we should be able to keep 16 0.5-liter bottles or food for two people cool for seven days. These are exactly the aspects we will now test in our own test. To make this possible, we have procured enough half-liter bottles and a wireless thermometer that continuously informs us about the internal temperature of the box. In order to reflect reality as closely as possible, we decided to open the box twice a day during the seven test days and remove one bottle at a time. After all, the contents cannot be kept untouched in the box for seven days while on the move; they are removed regularly. The results of this test will then inform us whether it makes sense to carry out further tests. Possible next steps could be tests with food or tests in which we replace removed bottles with uncooled bottles in order to further determine practical suitability.

But now it's time to prepare: the ice packs have to go into the freezer to reach the required temperature. You can look forward to our findings, which we will share with you soon.
