Which cooler box is right for you?
When is it worth buying a cooler?
Whether you're lying in the sun for hours, traveling through remote areas in a van, or transporting delicate foods, a cool box ensures that your food stays fresh and enjoyable. Especially when traditional refrigeration isn't available, the quality of a cool box becomes even more crucial. Not every cooler maintains a stable temperature or provides sufficient insulation over extended periods.
If you want to buy a cooler, you should not only pay attention to the design or the volume, but also to innovative
Technologies that reliably maintain the temperature. QOOL coolers come in precisely here. They impress with high-tech materials and sophisticated temperature management, specially developed for demanding applications.

Comparison of active and passive coolers
Frequently asked questions about coolers
The length of time a cooler stays cold depends heavily on the type and quality of its insulation. Simple coolers with standard insulation typically only keep ice cubes cold for 1 to 3 days. High-quality passive coolers like the QOOL Box achieve significantly longer cooling times – up to 10 days without power, depending on the Temperature Elements, ambient temperature, and usage.
Thanks to its vacuum insulation and individually selectable temperature elements (+2°C to +8°C, 0°C, -18°C, etc.), the QOOL Box offers constant cooling or even freezing – even in high outside temperatures. The exact cooling time depends on how well the box was pre-cooled, how often it is opened, and whether it is placed in the shade or in the sun.
Cleaning your QOOL Box is straightforward, as both the specially treated outer shell and the interior are easy to clean and disinfect. However, avoid using harsh chemicals to avoid damaging the material. A sponge moistened with water is ideal for cleaning. After cleaning, we recommend wiping the cool box and temperature elements thoroughly dry and storing them uncovered for a few days. This step helps prevent possible mold growth in the box and ensures that the QOOL Box stays fresh and ready for use.
Passive coolers are particularly suitable for the beach. They operate without electricity, are well-insulated, and can easily withstand high outside temperatures. The QOOL Box has proven particularly effective in this regard. Thanks to its state-of-the-art vacuum insulation and reusable Temperature Elements, it stays reliably cool for many hours – or even several days – even in direct sunlight. Unlike conventional coolers, it not only keeps drinks and snacks fresh, but also delicate foods like fruit, yogurt, or fish safely at the desired temperature.
The QOOL Box requires neither electricity nor ice, making it ideal for long days at the beach, picnics, or self-sufficient vacations by the sea. Thanks to its robust construction, it's also shockproof, UV-resistant, and easy to transport.
Which cooler box is best depends on the intended use – models that cool reliably without electricity, are durable and have impressive heat output are particularly in demand.
The QOOL Box meets all these requirements and has received numerous awards, including the ISPO Award, the Design & Innovation Award, the Green Product Award, the German Innovation Award, the Outdoor Editors' Choice Award and the Plus X Award.
With its vacuum insulation and Temperature Elements, it offers up to 10 days of self-sufficient cooling – ideal for demanding applications such as sailing trips, beach days or expeditions.
The appropriate cooler size depends on how many people need to be served and how long the operation will last. As a rough guide, here's what you need:
- approx. 20–30 liters for day trips or a weekend
- approx. 30–45 liters for several days or short trips
- approx. 50–70 liters for longer trips or families
- over 70 liters, e.g. for groups or expeditions
The QOOL Box M (27 liters) is ideal for 1-2 people on multi-day trips, such as sailing, camping or at the beach.
The QOOL Box L (43 liters) is suitable for 2-4 people and offers enough space for fresh food, drinks or even temperature-sensitive products – with up to 10 days of cooling capacity without electricity.
